One Very Special Weekend! Part 2

Today my hubby and I went to a really lovely area where we live called Astley Hall. In fact, there are a lot of old halls where we live still around today. Astley Hall has free admission and has recently been refurbished. One room, probably the most oldest part of the house, still has its original walls exposed in order to monitor the movement of the house.

Historic places are really not my husbands thing. So as I had a look around, he took our small dog, Bonnie, for a walk. I always find the atmosphere in these old buildings really weird. You’re forced to imagine what it would have been like to live there hundreds of years ago. This room had a real homely feel to it. The big windows help, flooding the room with light…

It is believed Oliver Cromwell slept in this actual bed…

One feature of this house are the windows!

The landscape was equally beautiful, especially the gardens with their old gates and walls!
