Last week, after setting up my personal planner, I began a new project. Actually, project sounds too formal. It’s more like a daily practice. Each day I wanted to take time to note any quote, affirmation, or positive thought that struck a chord within me. This way, if I take time to note it down creatively, it is more likely to sink in. I used the planner pages I printed off last week (see here), and stickers from Simple Stories I AM range. These stickers are like positive affirmations in themselves.
As you will know, if you read my last post, I’ve had a difficult couple of weeks. This daily practice is only part of something bigger I’m doing to make positive changes in my life. I’m currently reading Louise Hay’s ‘You Can Heal Your Life.’ It came by way of recommendation and so far it has spoken very specifically and practically into my life. I have a beautiful journal which I will be using as a journal on this journey. Due to the deeply personal nature of it contents I won’t share everything I write in it but I’m planning on using it also as a kind of smash book/scrapbook. I’ll share here some of those pages as and when I make them. The journal itself I came by in The Range for only £3.99! It is so beautiful and has the words, “Dear past, thanks for all the lessons. Dear future, I’m ready.” They are so appropriate for me at this time in my life!
The day I posted my last post, I decided to have some me time. Time set aside to take myself out for coffee and cake. I found an amazing new café that sells only healthy, nutritious meals. That included the most amazing brownies….and yes…they WERE healthy!!! I really need the recipe! Anyway, on my way back, I popped into my local Christian bookshop. They have the most gorgeous journals and I thought I’d just have a browse. Anyway, a beautiful little journal caught my eyes. It had dandelions all over it with the words, “Prayers and Answers.” If that wasn’t enough, the lady that worked there came over to me, picked it up and said, “Ooh, now this is gorgeous!” I took it as my cue to buy it.
Before I even took it out of its bag, this morning, I had an answer to a prayer. I was short on money due to unexpected bills etc, and had things I needed to post and to buy. So using the positive affirmations to stop the usual cycle of a victim mentality, and saying a non verbal prayer about my situation, I sat down to work. Not long after that there was a knock on my door. Someone I know stood there and said, “Give me your hand.” As I did, they shoved a note in my hand…a ten pound note. Needs met. Prayers answered.
The day I wrote that post I found this journal:
I really hope I’ve encouraged someone with this today. If so, please get in touch or leave a comment below. I would love to hear from you!
