My Bargain Fauxbonichi And Cover

So today I thought I’d share with you my little gem of a find! I really wanted to give the Hobonichi a go in 2016 but didn’t want to fork out for the price. Neither did I want to use the A5 Paperchase equivalent. Fortunately I came across this cute, leather planner, a little bigger than A6.

It even had the square paper…like the Hobonichi.

But, due to it’s awkward size, I was pretty stuck for a cover. I did contemplate cutting it down to fit Hobonichi covers, but it all seemed like too much messing around for a cover.

Then one day, I was in a card shop, here in the UK, and saw they had brought out the notebooks I use for my journaling. Except this time they had different colours. One colour in particular was gorgeous! A lovely aqua blue. So, for just £1 I snapped it up, not realising that the cover actually fit my fauxbonichi like a glove!!!

As it said notes on the front I just put the cover on back to front!

Et voila! All for £4!!!!!! Now all that’s left for me to do it set it up ready for 2016…

I hope you found this post helpful and it has inspired you to try making your own. The Leather notebook was from T.K.Maxx and the notebook with removable cover was from Card Factory.

  1. Hi there. I have been researching graph paper notebooks option so I can start my own Fauxbonichi and ran across this post. I am curious to know what the actual brand of the notebook is you bought from T.J. Maxx? This seems like a viable option if I can figure out what company manufactured it.

    Thanks for your help!

    1. Hi! Okay, so I’ve looked in T.K.Maxx since and still can’t find it. The company that manufactured it, however, is inTempo Firenze. It is an Italian company. I hope this helps!
